(TSP) approved by MDEC

Eligible SMEs can claim a government grant of 50% matching grant up to RM5,000 to subscribe
to Netiquette Software Solution.

This grant is launched by the Ministry of Finance Malaysia which aims to help local SMEs to adopt digitalization in their
business by providing a 50% matching grant per SME.

 

The applicable Netiquette Software Solution for the grant is:

  • Accounting Management System
  • Inventory Management System
  • Customer Relationship Management
  • Payroll System
  • Point of Sales System

What is Technology Solution Provider (TSP)?

TSPs are local technology companies identified to support Malaysian SMEs in digital adoption under the SME Business Digitalisation Grant announced in the budget 2020.

What is SME digitalization grant?

SME Digitalisation Initiative is a new grant initiative provided by the Ministry of Finance Malaysia to assist Small and Medium Enterprises (“SME”) to adopt digitalisation in their business operations.                                                           

According to Malaysia’s Budget 2020 presentation, the Government will provide a 50% matching grant of up to RM5,000.00 per SME over a period of 5 years for the subscription of digital services that will enhance their productivity and competitiveness.                                              

Following the Pemerkasa announcement in March 2021, under Initiative (9), Cooperative (“Koperasi”) sector has been encouraged to apply for the grant to receive similar benefits afforded to SMEs.              

The 7 key digitalization areas that have been identified by the government:

  • Digital marketing/sales
  • Ecommerce
  • Point of sales system
  • HR payroll system & CRM
  • Procurement
  • Remote working
  • ERP/Accounting&Tax

Is your company eligible to apply?
The SME is at least 60% owned by Malaysian;

-Available to SMEs and Cooperative (“Koperasi”) registered under the relevant laws of Malaysia;
-The SME /Coop has been in operation for at least six (6) months;
-The SME/Coop has a minimum average annual sales turnover of RM50,000

Required documents

  • Completed SME Digitalisation Initiative Application Form.
  • A copy of the Identification Card or Passport of Director (s) / Partner (s) / Proprietor(s) of the SME / applicant appointed by the Coop, whichever is applicable.
  • A copy of the SME’s business registration licenses (CCM or any similar forms under the Companies Act 2016). For Coop, a copy of SKM registration certificate.
  • Latest audited financial statements or latest financial management account statement or the bank statement for the latest two (2) months;
  • Quotation/invoice for the selected digitalisation services from the Service Provider listed by MDEC; and
  • Any other information and documents as and when required by the bank.

 

 

 

Frequent Asked Questions

  1. Who shall apply for the grant?
    SMEs & under this matching grant, customers are able to claim 50% of the total invoice bill or up to RM 5,000. It is limited to the first 100,000 SMEs applications only.
  2. If the company has multiple outlets however registered under 1 company only. Can they apply for multiple applications?
    The application is for per company.
  3. For Franchises, they are from separate companies. Are they eligible to apply separately?
    Yes, because it is from different companies.
  4. If a company applies for 2 solutions, do they need to submit 2 applications?
    Only 1 application is acceptable and up to 3 solutions with a max RM5k grant.
  5. If a company applies from multiple TSPs, do they have to apply for multiple applications?
    Only 1 application and the solutions should not duplicate from 1 TSP to another.
  6. Can the company apply for software enhancement/upgrade?
    The application is only for new solutions and not for the new versions or upgrade. The intention is for companies to adopt new technology.
  7. The eligible criteria stated for SMEs, how about “Koperasi” as they operate as a business entity
    If they meet all the criteria, it is acceptable.
  8. Can the company mix other supplier invoices to claim grants?
    Customers can mix other TSP supplier invoices (maximum 3 invoices) to claim the grant together in one application form.
